This past weekend at Purdue the Badgers were unable to play running back James White because of a knee injury, and Lance Kendricks saw limited time because of a leg injury. The news coming of the weekend trip to West Lafeyette is not much better for the Badgers with the injuries of John Clay, and Peter Konz.
Clay suffered a sprain to his MCL in the third quarter of the game against Purdue, and did not return. There has been a lot of reporting that Clay could have come back if it wasn't for the play of Montee Ball in his absence.
Wisconsin head coach Bret Bielema has pointed out that the injury is not severe, and Clay is being looked at on a day-to-day basis. The question of whether or not Clay will play this weekend against Indiana at Camp Randall has not been officially answered, but don't count on it. With three games to play, and the way Montee Ball is playing, it is possible that Clay could be sidelined against the Hoosiers.
Also on the injury report is center Peter Konz. At Purdue Konz re-injured a bad ankle that has sidelined him from time to time this season. It is also up in the air whether or not Konz will play against Indiana, but if he is unable to go it will be Bill Nagy who will take the snaps.
So far this season Nagy has seen time at center in the Purdue game as well as filling in for Konz when he went down with a similar injury against Iowa two weeks ago.
On the positive side of the injury report it appears that the Badgers have three star players that will be ready to go against Indiana. As of right now running back James White, tight end Lance Kendricks, and safety Jay Valai are good to go against the Hoosiers. Positive signs for a Badger squad that is trying to get healthy during a physical stretch of the season.
