Dancing with the Lady Badgers

For almost a week the Lady Badgers had a lot to wait for. Too find out if they had won the Big Ten title. Too find out if they had indeed made the big dance. We now know the answer to both of those questions. No and yes.

The Lady Badgers were unable to win a Big Ten title this year after the Ohio State Buckeyes defeated Michigan State on Friday. Because of the Buckeye victory the Badgers came up just shy of the points needed to claim a title for themselves.

Following their victory over Northwestern the Lady Badgers locked up at least a third place finish in the Big Ten. A third place finish that became a reality after Penn State knocked off Michigan 1-0 in double overtime on Sunday. Even with the third place finish the Lady Badgers found on Monday that their season is not over quite yet.

The Badgers had been waiting almost a week to find out if they made the NCAA tournament, and who they would play if they had. The answer to the first question is yes, and the second is a familiar foe...U.W.-Milwaukee.

Earlier this season the Lady Badgers knocked off the Panthers 1-0 at the McClimon Soccer Complex in Madison, Wis. This time the Badgers will need to go Milwaukee to advance, and keep their season going for at least one more game. In a possible match-up against another familiar foe...Marquette.
