Bucky Falls in Season Opener

It's been a long offseason for the Badgers after losing 11 players and two assistant coaches from the Frozen Four team from a year ago. The beginning of the new season featured some new faces, and a new result compared to last season after an opening loss to Boston University.

The Badgers jumped out to an early lead after Derek Lee put the first puck in the back of the net for Wisconsin. In just a matter of seconds Wisconsin added another goal when senior Sean Dolan found Ryan Little for the second goal of the game.

The Terriors would rally to tie the game until Wisconsin's Jordy Murray lit the lamp giving the Badgers a 3-2 lead. That would be all the Badgers could muster the rest of the game. Boston would tie the game in the second period, and then would go on to win it off of a breakaway goal from Joe Pereira.

Wisconsin would have their chances late in the third period. A possible goal was waived off after the referees would rule that bounced off of Mark Zengerle's leg. That would as close as the Badgers would come to climbing back into the game late and they would go on to lose 4-3 in St. Louis.

Wisconsin will now take on Holy Cross at noon on Sunday in the consolation game.
